Swiss Embassy in Amman Launches UN at Country Level Guide
The Embassy of Switzerland in Amman has officially launched “The UN at the Country Level: A Practical Guide to the United Nations Operational System” at an evening event hosted at the Residence on Monday, 30 June.The launch brought together ambassadors, deputy heads of mission, heads of international cooperation, and the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Sheri Ritsema-Anderson. Participants strongly welcomed the guide and underlined its usefulness and relevance, particularly in the current context of major global challenges and the need for UN reform.During the event, the Embassy emphasized that the guide provides diplomats and international cooperation teams in the field with clear and pedagogical access to how the UN functions at national level. The two previously published Swiss guides on the General Assembly and ECOSOC were also presented, highlighting how, together with this new publication, they strengthen Member States’ capacity to engage effectively with the UN.
